Way to save pandas

So...after we found out why cute pandas are in danger,what can we do to change the situation a little bit ? Feed a panda at home as a pet? Haha I am kidding, cause pandas need very high protection, which you and me cannot afford it!

The giant panda is the rarest member of the bear family, and although it is universally adored, it is among the world's most threatened animals. As of 2011, estimates vary as to how many giant pandas are left in the wild, but it is said to be between 1,600 and 2,500 and they are found in the southwest of China in Gansu, Shaanxi and Sichuan Provinces. Efforts to conserve the giant panda population are improving, and there are a number of ways that the public can support conservation projects.

Protect their habitat

One of the best ways humans can protect giant pandas is by preserving their natural habitat. Giant pandas need to live in forests that provide them with their primary source of food--bamboo. But one of the problems with the bear's food source is that bamboo dies after it flowers, leaving nothing for the pandas to eat. Therefore, pandas need to constantly migrate to find new patches of bamboo. But as people continue to develop more land, it is becoming more and more challenging for the bear to find food to surviveFortunately, the Chinese government has already worked to set aside nature preserves in areas where bamboo is abundant. In addition, "bamboo corridors", or strips of land, have been created so that the bears can roam freely from one area to the other. Conservationists hope this will help the pandas find mates more easily and repopulate its species

Donate to a conservation organization

One of the best ways you can help giant pandas is by donating money to a conservation fund. For example, the World Wildlife Fund works to increase the habitat area for the giant panda and create more bamboo corridors for the pandas. Similarly, the Giant Panda Conservation Fund uses donations to help protect the habitat of the giant panda and also participates in research to better understand how to reintroduce pandas into the wild after they have lived in captivity.

Facilitate breeding

New generations of giant pandas can thrive if caretakers implement protective measures that facilitate breeding. Artificial insemination techniques have allowed breeders to introduce new pandas to the giant panda population. However, adult pandas do not always nurture their new young. As a result, caregivers must step in to provide assistance with raising the baby pandas. Unfortunately, even caregivers are unable to raise baby pandas that experience debilitating health issues. Thus, the health of adult pandas should be closely monitored in order to increase their potential to effectively reproduce.
